Dreier Suhr takes over textile logistics division of the M+R Spedag Group and becomes the market leader

Gunzgen/Suhr September 3, 2019

Dreier Suhr takes over the textile logistics division of the M+R Spedag Group and becomes the market leader in Switzerland for garments on hangers. From 2020, the division will be renamed “Dreier Fashion4you”.

“In the rapidly changing retail business, it was essential to consolidate the market,” the Richner and Dreier families commented, talking about the sale of M+R Logistics Service, Gunzgen to Dreier in Suhr, under the umbrella of HPD Holding. The foundation for the close cooperation between the two traditional companies was laid in the 1970s, by the fathers of today’s CEOs and owners, Daniel Richner and Hans-Peter Dreier, with a joint company in Morocco. This success story now continues. For 50 years, M+R has specialized in the transport, customs clearance and distribution of garments on hangers. It is a pioneer in this field and has established itself as the market leader in Gunzgen.“Our aim was to find a buyer who would take over the distribution terminal and further expand the business. Always, with a focus on customer needs but also on safeguarding jobs. This has become possible with the takeover by the Dreier company,” Daniel Richner explains.

The focus on the fashion industry, with the most modern logistics solutions and its own terminal, in proximity to the Härkingen motorway triangle, was a milestone in the company’s history in 1991. “The depth of our range of services was and is unique in the industry,” states Daniel Richner, still raving today about his father’s visionary decision. “In addition, our contacts to European textile suppliers was the starting point for the impressive development in East Asia, our most important mainstay today, with over 1000 employees at 78 locations.

”“The core values of our corporate culture are proximity to the market, customer-specific solutions and forward-looking logistics systems,” states Dreier, proud of his history and the identification of his employees with this tradition. But anyone who wants to survive must increase efficiency, remain innovative and resolutely exploit synergies. This is now possible with the merger of the two companies, which are also strongly anchored in the textile logistics sector.

Dreier has been internationally active in the textile sector since 1985, mainly in the Maghreb states, and as a logistics partner for the most successful German e-commerce fashion platform. Nationally, Dreier distributes its entire range of lifestyle products for the largest European fashion chains. “From now on, we can logistically serve the whole of Switzerland with our daily distribution systems, no matter whether packaged goods or hanging clothes,” Dreier explains. With over 300 transport units set up for the fashion industry, Dreier Fashion4you is ideally equipped for this.

At a time when “speed-to-market” is the measure of all things and when mail order companies promise one-day deliveries, only those who offer a deep range of services, focused on the needs of their customers can survive. Moreover, when sustainability comes together with combined rail solutions from the Egerkingen area, customers and employees know that Dreier Fashion4you is perfectly positioned for the future.

This information concerns all operational and commercial matters with immediate effect. Administrative activities will continue to be supported by the M+R Spedag Group; the market presence and further integration will be carried out step by step. Customers and service providers will be informed about the changes.
