With a turnover of over 16 million TEUs, Shenzhen's three ports (Yantian, Shekou and Chiwan) ranked No. 4 on the list of the words biggest ports in 2005. It is expected to soon overtake Hong Kong, currently the biggest container port in the world.
Due to the close proximity to Hong Kong, M+R Asia has for a long time had a delegation in Shenzhen with a Delegation, while operational aspects were taken care of by the Hong Kong office. In view of the increasing importance of Shenzhen, M+R Asia no has opened a fully operational office with some 25 staff there. The office reports directly to M+R Hong Kong.
